Bullet casings fell to floor, coming out Smith’s sub- machine gun. Three kills, four, five, and six. That was sixth kill on this mission; keeping track was a sort of game at the base where he lived. He ducked around a corner of a hallway in the space transporter to avoid the enemies return fire. It was too late; three bullets hit him on the back, knocking the wind out of him.
“Dammit!” If it wasn’t for his bullet-proof vest he’d be dead already. So it could’ve been worse, much worse.

I followed a gravedigger to the graveyard and slipped in and out from behind tombstones. I ducked around a huge grave. The man was holding a shovel and started to dig. That’s when I made my move. I ran up to the man, bearing my fangs as he screamed and dropped the shovel. Red blood spilled to the floor and I was quick to slurp it up. I do not know how long I crouched there, slurping out blood from the man’s body. Perhaps twenty-five minutes? I could not say. What I do know is that I was alerted by the sound of sirens.
